The long awaited Version 3 kit of the UH-60 series helicopters are finally beginning to arrive.

Version 3 now includes special carbon fiber side frames allowing the rear transmission to be positioned lower in the  mechanics, allowing for the maintenance free and highly reliable torque tube drive system to be securely located in the tail of the helicopter.

The new angled gear box and upper torque tube are also supplied in the kit.  As long as you have a working Chaos or Trex 600 torque tube driven helicopter, this kit gives you everything you need to install your machine into the fuselage.

The rudder control system has also been upgraded.  No more flex in your rudder.  The new system incorporates control rods that connect to a pivot arm on the gear box.  The pivot arm is all ready installed.  Just snap on your linkages and your done!

Working oleo struts front and rear allow for very scale take off's and landings.

The new Version 3 kits are incredibly reliable and is designed for many years of trouble free use.

Install is also much faster.  No more adjusting, and tinkering.  The system is designed to plug into each other and work.  Torque tubes also offer much less drag on the system offering a more efficient flying machine.

Q&A

Question:

I want to fly my stock Align 600 ESP.  Do I need to modify anything.

Answer:

No, if you plan to just drop in the 600 esp without any multiblade rotorhead, there is no need to change any electronics.

Question:

Is there anything I need to do when using a 4 blade rotor head system?

Answer:

Yes, Because of the additional torque it takes to rotate a 4 blade rotor head and 4 blades, we recommend to upgrade your power system to high voltage.   You will need a lower kv motor and special speed controller that is designed to handle the higher voltage.

For 10S systems ( using 2pcs 5S batteries in series )  Series is doubling the voltage but keeping the same mah/capacity.  Typically we use either an Castle Creations ice 80HV or ice 120HV speed controller.  Recommended motor:  630KV scorpion or hyperion 4035 motor is recommended.

For 12S systems ( using 2 pcs 6S batteries in series )  Castle creations Ice 80HV or Ice 120HV speed controller.  Recommended motor: 500 or 560 kv scorpion or hyperion 4035.

Question:

Do I need a stabilization system when using a multi-blade rotor head?

Answer:

Yes, and no...... We have scale flexible blades.  These were designed to help for those who are not using a 3 axis gyro.  Keeps your helicopter stable but does require more attention and skill to operate.  If using a 3 axis gyro, its much easier to fly and allows you to use carbon fiber blades for more performance.

Question:

What type of flight times can I expect?

Answer:

High voltage systems typically have flight times from 7 min up to 15 min.  This really depends on what type of batteries you use.  Mainly depends on the batteries capacity mah ratings.

Question:

Is the batteries "C" rating important.

Answer:

For scale flying, not really.  We still fly our 20 lbs black hawk on 20C rated batteries with no issues.  The higher the C rating  the better performance but its not necessary to spend more money on the higher C ratings if you don't plan on doing tick tocs and hardcore 3d flying.

Question:

What is the proper head for a 4 blade rotor head?

Answer:

1300-1500 RPM'S  ( Do not exceed 1500 ) If you plan to be on the lower side of this number, its recommended to use a 4 blade tail rotor.
